About Butt Augmentation

If you’re trying to make your curvy derrière a dream come true, then a butt augmentation surgery may be just the thing for you! Buttocks or gluteal implants at The Gill Center for Plastic Surgery and Dermatology are a great way to enhance your rear end, adding volume, curves, and firmness to each buttock. In some situations, it is unfortunate that the size you want your buttocks to be simply isn't obtainable due to genetics, regardless of the number of squats you do. In these circumstances, a butt augmentation can help you gain a more symmetrical and sensual body shape. Our double board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul S. Gill, fashions a pocket-like area within the tissue of each buttock to insert an implant and adjust it to properly augment your proportions. The implants are placed above the area that is sat on, making sitting easier during the recovery period. If you dream of a more voluptuous backside, our experienced board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul Gill, can formulate a unique treatment plan that will help you meet your goals. Call our team in The Woodlands, TX (North Houston) to find out more about butt augmentation today.

Ideal Candidates

Individuals all around The Woodlands, TX area regularly consult with Dr. Gill to gain more information about butt augmentation. Our candidates typically:

Surgical Technique

The Gill Center for Plastic Surgery and Dermatology is proud to offer a selection of various implant sizes and shapes to help meet your aesthetic goals. The options will be discussed with you during your consultation where Dr. Gill will help you pick the implants that best fit your individual shape. To begin your surgery in an outpatient setting, Dr. Gill will meticulously create small incisions in the natural fold of the backside and your selected implants will be securely attached. To finalize the procedure, the incisions will be closed and bandaged. Gluteoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure and performed under general anesthesia, eliminating the need for an overnight observation. The implantation procedure will typically take around 2 – 3 hours to perform. After around 1 – 2 months, you should be recovered and ready to hit the beach to reveal your new curves.

What to Expect

After your surgery, it is normal to feel minor pain and experience bruising and/or swelling for up to seven days. Drains are often placed and will need to remain intact for one week to allow fluid and blood to be properly expelled for maximum healing. In most cases, normal activities can be resumed after a few weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks. Dr. Gill is experienced in the use of implants for curvier buttocks so patients are usually thrilled to find that their scars are extremely faint. As the incisions are made discreetly in the natural folds of the gluteus, you will feel even more confidence in your shorts and bathing suits knowing that your scars are not noticeable to the naked eye. To preserve results, you should continue your exercise regimen and healthy eating habits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do butt implants last longer than fat transfer?
During your initial consultation, the benefits and drawbacks of both options will be reviewed by Dr. Gill so you can choose which surgery is better, depending on your needs and wants. He will explain what you should do to sustain the outcomes of implants or a fat transfer so you can choose which procedure better fits your lifestyle. For either option, it is recommended that you remain at a steady weight following your surgery. Also, keep in mind that at some point, a synthetic implant will need to be replaced.

Will weight gain affect my results?
Significant weight gain or loss may alter the appearance of your butt augmentation surgery. The volume and shape of your butt may be changed if you lose or gain a lot of weight after the implants are placed. Dr. Gill suggests you follow a balanced diet and exercise regularly to preserve the outcomes of your butt augmentation surgery.

What can I expect during my recovery?
In the first few weeks after your augmentation, you might feel mild to moderate discomfort while you heal. You should avoid strenuous activity until you have approval from Dr. Gill to perform more physically demanding movements. In addition, you need to schedule follow-up visits during your recovery so that Dr. Gill can examine your buttocks to make sure you are healing correctly, following his instructions, and getting the results you wanted to see.

What is the difference between a butt augmentation and a Brazilian butt lift?
A butt augmentation uses a silicone implant to add volume, while a BBL (Brazilian butt lift) uses fat transferred from a different area of your body to add to your butt. Good candidates for a BBL need to have enough excess fat to reach their goals. If you do not have enough fat, a buttocks augmentation with an implant is a great alternative choice.
